  • Learning Journey Finlandia

Learning Program on the Finnish Education System

To know about the Finnish Education System it is enough to visit schools.
To understand it, you have to live the experiences of the sauna and the snowy forest.

  •

  • We do not tell you about it, you get crossed by it.

    #InPractice

We can talk for hours. We can tell you details. Nothing compares to being in schools, talking to students, interviewing managers, asking teachers.

    #FinnishMethod

The Program is designed with Finnish methodology. It combines talks about the generalities of the system and the particularities of each level with visits, exploration, and reflection sessions.

    #CulturalImmersion

The Finnish educational system is a generator and a product of the Finnish culture. We cannot understand one without the other. The Program includes multiple experiences of real cultural immersion (we live as the Finns do!).

  •

  • Relevant Topics

We work on all levels of the System: initial, primary, secondary, and university.
We have the focus adjusted on the most requested topics (and also on the ones that you bring)

    • Learning vs Teaching Differences, expectations, implementation
    • Teacher Training Process, programs, modalities
    • Role of the Manager Tasks, expectations
    • Design of the Learning Environment Space, time, strategies
    • School-Family Relationship Roles, expectations, commitments
    • School-State Relationship Roles, expectations, commitments
    • Knowledge Management Application of curricular contents
    • Student's Role Tasks, expectations
    • Teaching Role Tasks, expectations
    • Diversity Management Cultural, disability, bullying
    • Use of Technology Resources and implementation
    • School-Community Relationship Roles, expectations, commitments

11 intense, exotic and transforming days

    broken image

Days 1 to 4 - Resilience and Nature

    Rovaniemi

We begin by visiting the system at its limits. What is the invisible essence of the system? What is a school like in the Arctic Circle? How do you work in adversity?
We learn the generalities of the Finnish Educational System
We visit an Initial School, a Primary School, a Secondary School, and the University of Teacher Training.
Will we see northern lights? It is very probable!

Days 5 to 8 - Innovation and Design

    Helsinki

In contrast to the austerity of the North Pole, we fly to the Capital and explore an environment with greater resources. Is the same invisible essence still there? What are vocational schools like? Where is the focus of innovation?
We experience the impact of Helsinki design and glamor on learning. We visit a Comprehensive Bilingual School (grades 1 to 9), a School of Pedagogical Innovation, and a Vocational High School.

Days 9 to 11 - Practicality and Community

    Jyväskylä

We move towards the center of Finland. The train takes us to the ideal city so that we can explore university life and non-formal learning. What is the difference between a University and a University of Applied Sciences? How do Universities relate to the Community? What is the essence that remains intact? What impact does the system have on culture? We visit a University, a University of Applied Sciences, a non-traditional Entrepreneurship School, and a non-formal arts program.

  • A Program designed and facilitated by Nati Ceruti

Nati is a reference for Finnish education in Argentina. She is frequently cited to give talks about the Finnish system from a Latin American perspective.

She has been working for more than 12 years with educational institutions in Latam and Finland. She knows the points of similarity/difference/learning. From her double point of view, she designed Learning Journey Finland as a profound and transformative experience.
